Module 11 - Communication (including signing)

Special School Communication through passing on messages
Secondary (GLD)
Aged 11-16 yrs

For this module we used many strategies
which included communication through
art therapy where the pupils could express
their emotions through the medium of art.
All students learnt some new Makaton and
BSL signing and joined in singing and signing
choirs. We practised Jabadao where the
students mimicked each other in controlled
situations. We started a Lego Therapy club to
support communication and social interaction
and students rehearsed what to say in
different situations.
