Module 4 - Individual rights and responsibilities
Public Secondary School
Aged 11-14 yrs
In our school, we decided to focus on Day
against Children Labour , June 12th . Our 8th
grade will work on webquests during their
English Class, surfing various sites such as
http://www.un.org/en/events/childrenday/
and we’ll ask them to prepare powerpoints,
posters and a little movie.
They worked on a petition to share and to
address to Ban Ki Moon, in order to fine
companies which hire children and use the
money to enforce school for everyone.
Reunion Island Activities
Day dedicated to religious tolerance. Students
worked on the principle of laicity, seperating
religious beliefs from institutions in the state.
A wall was decorated for this occasion.
“Journée de la Laïcité”
In this workshop students are working on a
quizz about different school systems in the
world.
They discovered some facts about the school
systems in partner countries (Turkey, England,
Italy) and compared the different subjects
taught. As opposed to the French system,
some schools have religious courses.
The aim was to make students become more
tolerant as well as understand their rights and
duties at school and society.
