On Saturday, July 6th, Pendle Community High School & College held its inaugural Summer Fair. The primary goal of the event was to raise funds for various trips and residentials for our students, many of whom have physical disabilities, learning difficulties, autism, or life-limiting conditions. We were overwhelmed by the generosity of local businesses, parents, carers, staff, and community members who contributed in numerous ways. We received an abundance of fantastic raffle prizes, cash donations, and items for the raffle and tombolas, among other contributions.

The event began with bright sunshine as we set up the stalls outside. However, a sudden downpour soon forced us to switch to plan B and move everything indoors. The hall was bustling with a variety of stalls offering food and drink, tombolas, games, competitions, plants, and more. There was an array of delicious food, including hot dogs, samosas, cakes, traybakes, and candy floss. Once we were settled inside, the sun made a return, allowing us to set up outdoor activities in the sensory garden, which featured inflatables, face painting, and circus skills.

Despite the unpredictable weather, the event saw a fantastic turnout. We received excellent feedback, and it seemed everyone had a wonderful time. In total, we raised an impressive £2022! We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this event a success and supported us in any way. Special thanks go to the local businesses listed below. Without this support, we would not be able to provide our students with these unforgettable opportunities. We are enormously grateful.
