On Thursday, October 10th, Pendle Community High School had the pleasure of hosting 30 guests as part of Pendle’s Mayoral Tour. This annual event provides the Mayor of Pendle with a platform to highlight the region to fellow mayors from across Lancashire. This year’s tour was particularly special as it included the mayors from Pendle’s twin towns: Creil in France and Marl in Germany.

As Pendle celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, it marks a significant milestone in its twinning relationship with Creil, which has been ongoing for half a century. Additionally, next year will commemorate 30 years of partnership with Marl.

During the visit, the mayors were divided into two groups for a guided tour of the school, where they engaged with various classes and activities. Students showcased their skills by preparing tea, coffee, and delightful sweet treats in the catering kitchen. To honor their guests, students presented special gifts to the mayors of Pendle, Creil, and Marl to take home.
