On Wednesday 20th September, we welcomed in the team from the Limitless Clarets Disability Project to film a piece about the work they do with us for BBC’s Match of the Day. The students enjoyed a day full of activities, such as golf, boccia, football, a sensory circuit, and a confidence workshop. This provided the children with opportunities to explore new sports and further develop their skills in their favourite ones.
To top off the day, we were joined by Burnley Football Club First Team Players: Jack Cork, Josh Cullen, Dara O’Shea, and Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson. The children had the chance to ask their burning questions, like, “Who is your best friend at Burnley FC?” and “Who inspired you the most as you grew up?” It’s safe to say everyone cherished every moment.
Burnley Football Club had this to say about the day: “We would like to express our immense gratitude to The Premier League Charitable Trust for this opportunity and for supporting the project itself. A big thank you also goes out to our Limitless partners: Jay-Care Stairlift & Mobility, Milk Education, Sense, Team Rise Project East Lancashire, The Golf Trust and Ygam Charity.
Finally, we want to extend our thanks to the staff and students at Pendle Community High School, as well as the Burnley Football Club players, for being a part of a truly magical day.”
